How many calories do I need?
A rough guide for adults: about 1,600–2,000 kcal a day for most women and 2,000–2,500 for most men to maintain weight, less if you're small or mostly sitting, more if you're tall or active. To lose weight slowly, aim roughly 300–500 kcal below what maintains you. Set that number as your target above.
